After a much too long holiday, school was starting up again for my two daughters. I was frantically rushing around trying to get the school uniforms together the night before as was the custom. It had been a trying day and I wanted to take a nice long bath once the kids were in bed. I had been trying to work out with my ex husband bathroom renovation ideas. Melbourne property markets were going crazy so it wasn’t a good time for us to sell. The house was in both our names so we had to make decisions together, which wasn’t going well. He wanted to spend a little as possible on the bathroom renovation, probably because he wasn’t living at the house. I figured if we were doing it, best to do it properly and spend the money to make the bathroom renovation in Melbourne a feature of the house. The battle was ongoing and it was getting tiresome.
My eldest daughter was starting high school, a big milestone for her. I could tell she was extremely nervous because she kept biting her fingernails. I had taken her out shopping on the weekend to pick up some new makeup. We just got some basics, nothing too heavy, just a light foundation and a mascara. Her skin was still pretty good, although if she takes after me she’s in for a treat a few years from now. As she gets older she will start having to deal with acne and we can talk about her options. The poor kid was devastated when she found her first pimple. Ever since she has insisted on having a shower twice a day, morning and night. I also picked her up some tea tree oil soap to help with her face, it seems to be doing the trick.
I was almost ready to turn in for the night until my eldest daughter came running down the hall to in a towel in tears. The shower drain was blocked and water was pooling and not going away like it should. My daughter was sobbing, beside herself with fear that she wasn’t going to be able to finish her shower. She had it in her head that if she didn’t have a shower the next day her skin would be a mess for school. I tried to calm her down while I quickly rang around to find out about emergency drain repair in Melbourne. I needed to see if a drainage plumber could come out as soon as possible. It was almost 10pm and I wasn’t sure how quickly the drain clearing would happen so I made arrangements with my ex husband to pick up our daughter. I hoped he wouldn’t bring up the bathroom renovation with her. She didn’t want to go but she knew that he had a working shower. I hated not being able to drive her to her first day of high school. I hoped that the Melbourne drain cleaning experts would be able to get the shower drain fixed fast and I could relax. I was still upset that I couldn’t make my daughter her favourite breakfast for her first day of high school but it was more important that she was calm and not stressed. I knew drain replacement contractors would sort it out by the next day at the latest and she could come home and tell me all about her day.
