My epic car collection

commercial sheds TamworthI bought my first car at sixteen. I didn’t even have my full licence yet but I was already so obsessed with cars. I’d been working part time at a local supermarket and had saved a few hundred bucks to buy myself a run down Saab. Then I worked on it and fixed it up, gave it a sleek paint job and everything. By the time I was eighteen, I was driving around in this cool vehicle that was the envy of all my friends.

Now that I’m in my fifties, I’ve bought and renovated so many cars that I’ve lost count. I’m still in love with cars, and get so much satisfaction from buying a write-off and restoring it into something collectible. As a result, my car collection is literally overflowing out of my garage. I do sell them off and make a nice profit sometimes, but often I find them too hard to let go (I know, I’m a sentimental bloke). So I’ve got three in the garage and three other cars crowding my driveway and front yard.

My neighbour Jim noticed that a few of the cars were exposed to the weather and he suggested I look into Carports. Tamworth has a number of good companies that can make one for a decent price. The cost isn’t the problem for me so much as my concern that I won’t be able to get one large enough to suit my needs. And even if I do invest in a carport, the cars would still be exposed to the rain and wind when it blows sideways, and this is not ideal while paint is drying and stuff like that. What I really need is something more like a few big commercial sheds! Tamworth has got builders that’ll make something to suit my needs, Jim reckons, whether it’s a carport, shed, barn or something in between. So I think I’m going to think about what I need, draw a little design and get myself a quote. My precious cars will never have to stay out in the rain again!
