I am planning my first hen’s night party and the pressure is on. I have blocked out my entire weekend to nail the venue, secure the guestlist and arrange transporting the bride while keeping her completely in the dark. You reach a certain point where you enter wedding season and suddenly weekends are consumed by either engagement parties, hens celebrations or weddings themselves. It is just one long season of uncomfortable heels, overly expensive gifts and cheap prosecco. At least this time I was involved in the planning. I scoured Melbourne party venues and found something a little different that would definitely get the girls talking.
At the ice rink we could do some skating, have drinks in the bar and they even provide food. It’s really near the city so transport is no issue and the bar is actually pretty swanky so the snobs of the group will be satisfied. Deciding between party venues can be tricky, it is hard to find the balance between intimate, fun and original. I’m pretty sure I just got it spot on. Without hesitation I booked the party and told the girls. I was celebrated! Next up I had to start arranging gifts. No bride to be wants to receive repeats so it was important that everyone was clear what everyone else was bringing. I made a quick shared document and flinged it into everyone’s inbox. I am the party planning queen, this weekend is totally going my way.
Of course, the snobs found a way to complain and I quickly received emails that they didn’t ice skate and wouldn’t be prepared to try it. I simply replied telling them to get in the spirit and give it a go, it was guaranteed to be a laugh. The big do is next weekend so stay posted I’ll be sure to update you!
