We need better windows

Melbourne window replacementsI’ve never felt unsafe in our neighbourhood. I always walk around late at night and often leave the back door unlocked. But the other day I was sitting in my bathtub having a soak when I noticed this pair of eyes pop up into the slit where the window was slightly open. It’s pretty high obviously but this peeping tom must have been standing on a chair or something outside. I screamed and he ran. Ever since then, I haven’t felt safe in my own home.

I thought about what we could do to prevent this happening in the future. Then I realised we could get aluminum window replacements. Melbourne isn’t famous for problems like this, unlike Tokyo where it isn’t safe to leave some things on the clothes line outside. Nevertheless there seems to be a strange guy in our neighbourhood. I figure that with new aluminium window frames we could get one of those push-out windows that leave a horizontal crack and are virtually impossible to peek into. The guy at the shop actually recommended sash window replacements. In Melbourne the window repairs services are really good so I’m thinking we may as well do the whole house, so that the windows match and look consistent. Our home is fairly old and could use a few upgrades, starting with window replacements is as good a place as any. It will be a nice revamp for the place. In the meantime I think I’ll be taking my baths in the en-suite instead of the main bathroom.  While we’re at it I’m thinking we can also install an intercom so that my partner and I can communicate to one another while in remote parts of the house. For example, when she’s in bed and I’m in the bathroom or vice versa, could come in handy.
