So, my folks made their decision to go away for their anniversary during my school holidays. I say it’s a mistake because as you can imagine I took the opportunity to go wild,. I wanted to have a massive house party. I was already 18, even though I was in year 12, so I was legally able to buy booze and I went to buy a bunch of slabs of beer.
I have to admit that I didn’t realise how popular I was. I was expecting a few people to rock up, not even close to half the girls I invited, but when the night came the whole school showed up. Even some uni students were there which made me feel really cool. I didn’t realise it at the time but I was going to have to need carpet cleaning. In Melbourne CBD, the young people and students don’t seem to give a darn about the mess that they’re making in other people’s homes. There were stains on the carpet from dirt from people’s shoes, and spillages everywhere — even in my parent’s room.
When the party finally cleared out in the wee hours of the mornin (everyone left for a better party), I looked at the carpet, terrified of what my parents would say when they came home. Then my little brother, who I’d previously made keep the whole thing a secret, suggested that I get professional carpet cleaning. It was a good idea but I only had a couple of days before they were to get back. I had no other choice though, so I called some companies about carpet cleaning and also tile and grout cleaning around Melbourne, cos the tiles were messed up too. The lady on the phone told me that they can use a special low-moisture technique to get the carpet dry in twenty minutes! It cost me the rest of my savings, but the carpet was clean before Mum and Dad came home!
